Dog Birthday, Adoption Day and Memorial Songs
Most people arrive here for a reason. They love their pet more than they know how to write and record a song about. Here are the occasions we've pre-built into the app:
Dog birthdays
Turn on Birthday Mode and give us their age. You get a song that actually names the number, which beats singing the regular birthday song at an animal who has no idea what's happening.
Shelter dogs with a guessed birthday: say so. "Vet thinks around April" is funnier and more honest than a made-up date, and the lyrics will use it.
Pet adoption days
The adoption anniversary is the one that tends to be...distinct. At least mine were.
Give us the arc: where they came from, how bad the first week was, what they're like now. A dog who spent three days under the kitchen table and now lovingly charges every visitor is a complete narrative, and the song will reflect it.
Memorials
Memorial Mode changes the tone of the whole song.
Give us the specifics rather than the sentiment: the way she knocked things off the shelf, the exact spot he slept, the sound she made at the door. Specifics are what make a tribute sound like them instead of like a greeting card. I realize this can be bittersweet, but for my pets who have moved on, the songs I've made for them with this service are so close to my heart. Something I wouldn't trade for the world. This is why I decided to incorporate this mode into TailwagTune.
Holidays
Type "Christmas," "Hanukkah," or "Halloween" into the genre or mood field and you'll get a holiday song. There's no special toggle, because we want you to be able to add this to any song!
Gifts
A song about someone else's pet is a genuinely hard gift to beat, mostly because nobody else is giving it. You need the pet's name and roughly four honest sentences about them. That's all you need to make an incredibly heartfelt, one-of-a-kind gift for someone you love with a pet that means the world to them.
